Samantha Catron is a self-taught fine arts painter currently based in Los Angeles, Ca. Particularly working with acrylic, gouache, and oil paint she thrives on experimentation and exploring the raw process of creating compositions with a focus on surrealism and figurative work that exudes boldness and contradiction.

She is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where she studied International Relations and Religious Studies. Emphasizing how different ideas and paradigms can inform her art, she explores shifts in perspective through dimension and form.  By intertwining political philosophy, spirituality, and aesthetics she challenges herself to use art as an expression of activism and empathy.

She most recently participated in the experiential group exhibit, Perceive Me Redux, at The Other Art Fair in Los Angeles April 2024, and will be exhibiting in a Shoebox Projects group show in May 2024. She also exhibited at the 2024 LA Open show with TAG Gallery, and was awarded a fellowship with Shoebox Arts. She was a member of The Silos Artist Collective in Richmond, VA for two years, exhibited in Virginia at the Biennial Juried Exhibition at ArtSpace Gallery, as well as the ArtWorks All-Media Group Juried show.
